Trade

I’m sitting here working on the sourcebook Better Worlds and I’m thinking of creating a trading system that deals with mining resources.  I don’t want to set up a system that is the equivalent of some boring accounting session; rather I would like to keep it simple. So far I’ve come up with five things that will adjust the price: Demand, Purity, Amount, Shipping (distance, complexity, etc) and Legality (or lack thereof).

The real problem comes when distinguishing the value of specific elements in the universe of C&D. Gold versus iridium or nobelium versus thorium, and so on. So does anyone have an idea how to solve this problem smoothly? Is it possible to set up a simple baseline and go from there? If you have any ideas please pitch them to us, but remember that we would love to keep the system simple and adjustable.

Updated Forum

After some really persistent spam on the forum we decided to update it. We’re now designing a forum which is linked to the blog so if you have an account on the blog you’ll be able to post on the forum.  We’ll phase the new forum in slowly. We’ve also going to make it so that you don’t have to load old blog posts, simply scroll right to them. And on top of that we’re working in a backup system for the blog.

We’ve heard faint whispers of C&D printing in March but we can’t get a solid date yet.

Black & White

So, the work has resumed after the holidays. Yesterday we prepared a print file for C&D. It looks like the first edition will be a B&W version, we’re unsure if it will be in soft or hard cover (hoping for hardcover!). We’re also eagerly awaiting word from our printing partner for a print date.

I’ve sent some specs to Johan concerning Better Worlds and it’s going to be interesting to see what he comes up with.
