If all goes according to plan we’ll release the E-Book version of Cold & Dark the 31th, and we’re eagerly looking forward to it. We just might release one track from the soundtrack as well, just to help you get into the right mindset while you scroll through the 300+ pages of space, grit and blood.
As for the printed version it does lean towards a kickstarter if we want to go full cover, and I’ll keep you updated as info comes rolling in.
Sorry for being so quiet but we’ve been swamped with work. The sixty five page guide is almost done. I’m tweaking with it a bit but it should be made available for download this week. I’m waiting for two illustrations and as soon they’re in place and the layout has been proofed I’m uploading it. The story Darker than Most is included and the players will be able to experience the aftermath of Lost Redemption.
Ah, yes the social ups and downs of life in the Sirius galaxy. Here we see a pirate crew delegate leaning back with confidence after she has pulverized a syndicate rep in a negotiation. It seems that the weapon smuggling has come under new management on Xindos space station.
The edited chapters are trickling in and as soon as they’re all done the work on the quickstart guide will begin. We’ve also begun test filming for The Last Transmission and are hoping to get a lot work done on the series this Sunday. We should know if it will go live or not as soon as we manage to get it through video editing.
There’s now a design essay up on Flames Rising which gives some insight into the conceptual design process behind Cold & Dark. This is part one. Part two will cover the stylistic artistic design and the iconography of the game.
Infinitology is the most widespread religion in the C&D universe. Infinitologists perceive the entire universe as a single living being. Sentient beings that are physical in nature make up the flesh, blood and organs of the void. Creatures that have mastered bio-tech and integrated their bodies with it are of a higher order and constitute the nerves and the impulses.
Almost everyone trusts them implicitly and they act as neutral councillors and mediators. Even though they oppose the massive mining industry, saying that it harms the universe and in the end mankind, they are on good terms with the GIC. They heal, help and mend. They have a tactful and respectful approach to other faiths and the money the church generates is poured into alternative energy- and medical research in order to improve the life of their fellow man.
They almost seem too magnanimous, don’t they…
Well, it has arrived. This dark tale of desolation and alien madness will give some insight into the horrors which lurk in the C&D universe. Just download it and enjoy!
